That's the whole structure. A room small enough that nobody hides, meeting long enough that you stop giving the polished answer.
Some cohorts meet in person, some meet over Zoom or Teams. It depends on where the men live. Distance has never been the thing that keeps a group from getting honest.
What happens in a cohort
We talk about what's actually going on. The marriage. The exhaustion. The board meeting you're dreading. The gap between what you preach and how you're living, which every honest pastor feels somewhere.
We talk about it in front of men who won't be scandalized, because they're carrying the same thing on a different street.
And I'm in the room -- not as an expert running a session, but as a pastor who's been where you are and can sk the question nobody else is asking you.
Who it's for
Senior and lead pastors. That's it. Not staff team, not boards. The man in the chair.
The retreat
Six months in, we go away together -- Friday afternoon through Saturday evening, at a nice house or retreat center. Not a conference. There's real food, time outdoors, and no schedule that runs you.
We do three things there.
1. We spend unhurried time together as men -- for some of you, meeting face to face for the first time.
2. We tell the truth about the last six months.
3. We sit under the Word, taught by veteran pastors who've been at this a long time and have something left to give.
You'll want that Sunday off. Ask for it early.
What it costs
Nothing, apart from your time, your attention, and your travel.
There is no fee for the cohort and no fee for the retreat. Donors cover this work on purpose, so that money is never the reason a pastor stays home.
